Job Description
Senior Transformation Programme Manager
London
Hybrid, three days per week in the office (maybe some flexibility in this)
£110,000 to £125,000 base, with potential stretch to £130,000 for an exceptional candidate
The role:
A global financial services group is entering its next chapter. Growth through acquisition has brought scale. The focus now is integration, building solid foundations and preparing the organisation for future transformation and potential capital market ambitions.
The Transformation team sits at the centre of this. You will be a senior member of that team, acting as the right hand to the Director of Programme Management. You will take full ownership of a portfolio of country integrations and lead complex, multi discipline programmes end to end.
This is not a polished, legacy PMO. The function is still going from zero to one. Governance is inconsistent. Priorities arrive at pace. Many of the basics still need to be built. If you thrive in environments where clarity needs to be created, not simply maintained, this will suit you.
Why this will appeal:
As a Senior Programme Manager you will:
Take a central role in integrating a global group after a period of rapid acquisition Shape how core programme and portfolio management disciplines are built, rather than inheriting a fixed framework Work across multiple countries and functions, from IT and HR to finance, operations and branding Influence senior leaders and act as an adviser rather than an order taker Work on a constant flow of change including integration, technology uplift, operating model design, regulatory readiness and wider transformation
As a Senior Programme Manager, you will lead:
You will own a portfolio of country level transformation and be accountable for:
Complex, cross functional integration work Rebranding and go to market change Regulatory and future capital market readiness Driving integrated planning across functions that do not naturally work together. You will be the glue connecting IT, HR, finance, operations and local business leadership. Building programme structure where it does not yet exist. Plans, RAID, decision logs, governance forums and reporting. You will create these as well as run them. Communicating clear, concise and influential updates to senior stakeholders across international leadership. Managing trade offs. Identifying what matters when everything feels urgent. Keeping attention on the critical path and making pragmatic calls. Building cross functional teams who can deliver in a volatile, ambiguous environment. Contributing to the operating rhythm, templates and playbook of the Transformation Office as it matures. You will travel to key markets across Europe and occasionally North and South America.
How you operate
This role suits someone whose strength lies in both their presence and their discipline.
Executive presence. You are credible with senior leaders and can build trust quickly.
Comfort switching between strategy and execution. One hour you align stakeholders on a major trade off. The next hour you refine a RAID, write meeting notes or tighten a plan.
Calm in a VUCA environment. When demand feels like a fire hose, you keep people focused.
Bridge building: You bring together functions that typically work in silos. You can handle tension and steer conversations towards productive outcomes.
Servant leadership You are motivated by the success of the organisation, not personal empire building. You are happy to do the unglamorous work that keeps programmes moving.
Your background
You are likely to have:
Significant experience as a senior programme manager or portfolio lead in complex, global organisations A track record of leading post acquisition integration or enterprise scale transformation Experience in regulated environments such as financial services, banking, insurance or healthcare Multi country and cross functional programme management exposure Evidence you have built or upgraded programme management disciplines, not just operated in a mature PMO Experience in both structured corporate settings and more entrepreneurial, fast moving environments Additional skills such as Romanian, Bulgarian, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage
If you enjoy stepping into ambiguity, creating clarity, bringing people together and delivering large scale change in complex environments, this role will feel like the right challenge.
