Job Description

Salt are partnering with a leading organisation and are looking for a Marketing Freelancer (Paid Media & Digital Performance) to join on a contract basis.

  • Contract: 4 months initially (extension likely)
  • Working Pattern: 4 days per week (hybrid working)

About the Role

This is a hands‑on digital performance role, joining a marketing team during a period of transition to provide immediate executional support. The focus is firmly on paid media oversight, website management and performance tracking, rather than brand strategy or creative development.

  • Manage monthly paid media budgets in the region of £50k–£80k
  • Act as the internal point of contact for an external media agency
  • Review performance, recommendations and optimisations proposed by the agency
  • Regularly sense‑check platforms and analytics to ensure campaigns are set up and performing as expected
  • Support campaign delivery by coordinating assets, approvals and timelines

Note: This role does not require hands‑on campaign build or bid management, but does require strong judgment around what good performance looks like.

Requirements

  • Proven experience overseeing paid media across Google, Meta and LinkedIn
  • Strong understanding of digital performance marketing and analytics
  • Confident working with GA4
  • Experience managing and challenging external agencies
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal direction
  • Able to deliver value immediately in a fast‑moving environment
  • Previous contractor or freelancer experience

Highly Desirable

  • Strong analytical mindset, particularly around attribution
  • Experience improving or implementing tracking frameworks
  • Exposure to email marketing
