Position Details Solicitor at the SOLACE Project / Lecturer in Criminal Justice (LTS) – School of Law, University of Glasgow. Vacancy Ref: 196379 | Salary: Grade 8, £50,253 – £58,225 per annum. Responsibilities
Set up and deliver an Independent Legal Advice Pilot for survivors of sexual violence, providing independent legal advice to complainers in High Court Sexual Offences cases in Scotland. Co‑ordinate the pilot project within the Emma Ritch Law Clinic at the Glasgow Open Justice Centre. Lead and supervise service provision to ensure highest standards of care for complainers. Develop and deliver innovative teaching and training to students, fostering trauma‑informed legal practice. Collaborate with academic and clinical teams to enhance research and educational outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
Practical experience as a solicitor with detailed knowledge of sexual offence law and procedure in Scotland. General knowledge of the Scottish criminal justice system. Commitment to, and understanding of, trauma‑informed legal service delivery. Strong teamwork, leadership and communication skills.
