Opening and closing the premises, including porter duties. General caretaking duties: basic maintenance and repairs, waste management, emergency call‑outs, cleaning duties. Health and Safety and compliance checks and record keeping (e.g., fire safety logs, COSHH registers). Managing Health and Safety matters such as legionella safety (contractors and routine flushing), fire safety (acting as fire marshal), visual checks of surfaces, play equipment and signage, lighting and electrical faults. Preparing the site safely after frost or snow. Managing simple routine grounds maintenance and coordinating grounds‑maintenance contractors. Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and security to support the welfare of all persons using the school premises.
