Senior Service Designer

Salary: Up to £70,000

Location: London (Hybrid)

A leading UK consultancy is hiring Senior Service Designers to help deliver high-impact, human-centred digital services for clients across the public and private sectors.

This is an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, shaping services from discovery through to delivery. Ideal for someone experienced in navigating complexity, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring services meet both user and business needs.

The Role

As a Senior Consultant in Service Design, you’ll lead strategic planning for client services and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders. You'll help design new propositions or evolve existing services by simplifying complexity, aligning teams, and advocating for user-centred outcomes.

You may also oversee a delivery team, manage dependencies across departments, and contribute to the internal Service Design Community of Practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead service design strategy, ensuring alignment with business and user goals
• Create and communicate service blueprints, value propositions, and experience maps
• Facilitate workshops, manage relationships, and drive consensus
• Propose approaches to complex organisational challenges
• Guide teams through Agile delivery, ensuring outputs remain user-focused
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to capability-building across the practice

Requirements

• Strong track record in end-to-end service design
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and delivery teams
• Advanced understanding of Agile methodologies
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and visualisation skills
• Background in service design, UX, business analysis, or product
• GDS/public sector experience is beneficial but not essential

• Up to £70,000 base salary
