Job Description

Your new company\n\nYou'll be joining a leading UK civils and infrastructure consultancy recognised for delivering complex, high-profile projects across rail, highways, water, energy, defence and aviation. The organisation is known for its collaborative culture, strong balance and commitment to developing its people. With continued growth in the region and a major new win within the water sector, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support long-term project delivery.\n\nYour new role\n\nAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of major infrastructure programmes.

You will be responsible for:\n\nPreparing and managing cost estimates, budgets and financial reports across the full project lifecycle\nMonitoring, forecasting and reporting on project costs and programme performance\nEnsuring value for money and commercial efficiency for clients\nLiaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders to support smooth project delivery\nLeading and mentoring junior team members to support their development\nAdministering NEC and other contract forms to maintain commercial control and compliance\nManaging contract change effectively and collaboratively\nProviding robust commercial advice to internal and external stakeholders\nWhat you'll need to succeed\n\nProven experience in quantity surveying and commercial management within major infrastructure projects\nStrong NEC contract experience\nProfessional accreditation (RICS or CICES) \nBackground in consultancy is strongly (contractor‑only backgrounds are not being considered).\nExperience across infrastructure sectors such as highways, water, rail, energy or utilities\nA proactive attitude, willingness to learn and strong commercial awareness\nWhat you'll get in return\n\nCompetitive salary: £55k-£58k for Senior level \nHybrid working: 3 days office / 2 days home\nStrong work‑life balance and flexible working policies\nTailored professional development and training pathways\nInclusive, supportive team culture\nPerformance‑based team scheme \n\nHays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
