A welcoming and vibrant secondary school in Hillingdon, London is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH to join their outstanding team in 2026.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students across Key Stages 3–5 who face emotional and behavioural challenges. Working closely with teaching staff and the school’s pastoral team, you'll help implement tailored strategies that encourage engagement, boost self-esteem, and promote academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEMH needs
• Develop trusting relationships to promote emotional regulation and resilience
• Implement behaviour support plans in collaboration with SENCO and teachers
• Create a safe, inclusive environment that nurtures each student’s potential
• Monitor and report progress, celebrating achievements big and small
Requirements
What Makes You Ideal:
• Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or vulnerable young people
• Calm, empathetic, and patient approach
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• A passion for inclusive education and student wellbeing
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN/SEMH (preferred)
