Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant

Deliver 1:1 SEN support and assist in small-group work

Support behaviour strategies and emotional regulation

Help pupils engage with learning and develop independence

Provide consistent SEN support to pupils who rely on structure

Requirements for an SEN Teaching Assistant

Previous experience supporting SEN pupils

Confidence working with autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech & language needs

Strong resilience, patience and communication skills

Flexibility to work across multiple schools

Ability to accept short-notice bookings when needed
