Job Description
Quantity Surveyors – Facades Remediation – Manchester\n\nThe Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial resources of assigned projects in order to maximise planned gross margin and profitability. The role involves managing subcontractors, procurement, cost control, project valuations and financial reporting while ensuring commercial and contractual risks are effectively managed.\n\nThe Quantity Surveyor will support the delivery of projects safely, on time and to the required quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.\n\nThis role reports to a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor and supports the wider commercial team in achieving the financial objectives of the business.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nCommercial Management\n\n * Manage the commercial performance of assigned projects to maximise planned gross margins and profitability.\n\n * Monitor actual gross margin and profit against project budgets and provide regular updates to the Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor.\n\n * Manage project cash flow and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders.\n\n * Prepare and maintain monthly CVR and CTC reports.\n\n * Provide regular, accrued reports and forecast on financial and operational performance.\n\nProcurement & Subcontract Management\n\n * Create and maintain procurement schedules aligned with the project programme.\n\n * Appoint subcontractors and place orders for materials and plant within delegated authority levels.\n\n * Manage subcontractor relationships including procurement, payments, and contract administration.\n\n * Agree the release of subcontractor retention where appropriate.\n\nContract & Commercial Administration\n\n * Assess, control and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.\n\n * Recognise contractual, commercial and operational risks and propose mitigation strategies.\n\n * Propose, negotiate and agree project variations with customers and suppliers within delegated authorities.\n\n * Measure and value work to support client invoicing and subcontractor payments.\n\n * Agree progress and valuations of works with clients and subcontractors.\n\nProject Delivery Support\n\n * Support the successful delivery of projects safely, on time and to the required quality standards.\n\n * Ensure that Practical Completion is achieved and the correct documentation is in place.\n\n * Maintain effective relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle.\n\n * Promote best practice across projects and the wider business.\n\nTeam Leadership & Collaboration\n\n * Support the development and mentoring of Assistant Quantity Surveyors.\n\n * Work collaboratively with operational teams and project management to ensure commercial success.\n\n * Support the appraisal and development of staff where required.\n\nCompliance & Governance\n\n * Implement and comply with CBG’s Health and Safety policies, procedures and all legal requirements.\n\n * Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and risk management frameworks.\n\n * Ensure compliance with company financial controls and standing orders.\n\n * Ensure compliance with the CBG Code of Conduct containing within the company handbook.\n\nRequirements\n\nMust have relevant degree level qualifications\n\nMust have 4+ years’ experience in a similar role including experience on Facades projects\n\nMust be based within a commutable distance of Manchester\n\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive Salary + Package
