Job Description
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor\n Location: Manchester (Old Trafford)\n Contract Type: Permanent\n Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 + package\n\nCompany Overview\n\nWe are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across the UK.\n\nOperating across sectors including water, transport, energy, and the built environment, this organisation has a strong track record of delivering high-value infrastructure schemes through long-term frameworks, joint ventures, and standalone projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of secured work and clear opportunities for career progression.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide key commercial support to project teams, ensuring effective cost control and contractual compliance across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.\n\nProjects typically range from £200k to £10m+, offering exposure to varied and complex schemes. You will be responsible for managing commercial processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and mitigating risk, while working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n• Accurate cost and value reporting across projects\n • Cash flow forecasting and cost management\n • Preparation and management of monthly CVR reports\n • Administration of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)\n • Subcontractor procurement, management, and financial control\n • Preparation of applications for payment\n • Managing variations, claims, and additional payments\n • Liaising with clients and key stakeholders on commercial matters\n • Supporting site teams with cost forecasting and financial performance\n • Ensuring compliance with internal commercial processes\n\nKey Requirements\n\n• Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction or civil engineering\n • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)\n • Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes\n • Degree/HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or similar\n • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills\n • Ability to work independently and as part of a team\n • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nDesirable:\n • Membership of RICS (or working towards)\n • CSCS Card\n • Experience within water or civil engineering sectors\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are ready to take on an exciting challenge as a Quantity Surveyor, please send your CV to (url removed) or contact Jordan Lee at (phone number removed) for further details.\n\nGanymede Solutions is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
