Project Manager - 12 month FTC
New Today
We are looking to recruit a Project Manager (Delivery Manager) for our Security & Resilience Integration team within Change Delivery & Performance (CD&P).
This role has three main areas of focus: resourcing for delivery, enabling delivery, and delivering initiatives.
A Delivery Manager is responsible for managing small to medium-sized change initiatives throughout their lifecycle—from inception to closure—including scoping, planning, managing, estimating, and delivering change initiatives.
Nationwide Technology is part of the Resilience & Agility Community, providing end-to-end technology services to support the society. Under the leadership of the CIO and SLT, it delivers technology change and run services to add value for our customers and members.
The role is within Security Transformation, working on the Cyber Security portfolio to protect members’ money and data. The aim is to deliver security capabilities that safeguard Nationwide, our members, and colleagues, while enabling safe and secure operations.
We prefer candidates with an interest or experience in Cyber Security or those who have supported networks, systems, and platforms through change delivery to enhance security controls.
We seek an experienced change professional with a successful track record of delivering complex change, including technology and business practice improvements to realize benefits.
We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working, with at least two days per week at our London or Swindon office, or 40% of working time if part-time. Further details will be provided upon successful application. More about our hybrid approach can be found here.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. Early closure of the advert may occur if high volumes of applications are received, so early application is encouraged.
What you’ll be doing
You will support the management of complex change initiatives throughout their lifecycle—scoping, planning, managing, and delivering. You’ll ensure initiatives meet their objectives within time, cost, and quality constraints, considering factors like business readiness and release management. You will assess outcomes to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet business needs.
Proactively identifying and escalating risks or blockers, resolving them effectively, and seeking continuous improvement opportunities will be key. You’ll lead diverse teams within Delivery Management, ensuring resource allocation aligns with project needs, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture focused on outcomes.
About you
We ask that you have:
- Experience in a complex change management environment.
- Experience delivering small to medium-scale change projects.
- Strong business insight, working with Product Owners within Security to deliver initiatives on time, within budget, and to quality standards, including governance facilitation.
- Experience working across multiple communities with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
- Leadership experience managing teams.
- Negotiation, influencing, motivational, and leadership skills, including working with suppliers and auditors.
- Awareness of change team outcomes to develop effective delivery plans.
- Attention to detail and the ability to grasp complex issues quickly.
Our customer-first behaviours are:

At Nationwide, you’ll be challenged to grow, valued, recognized, and inspired. We work for the good of customers, communities, and society.
