Project Controls Manager\n\n Newcastle upon Tyne\n 12‑month contract | Outside IR35\n\nKey requirements:\n\n * EPC experience on multidisciplinary projects\n\n * Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor\n\nThe Role\n\nA leading Tier 1 EPC contractor is seeking a Project Controls Manager to support major energy and infrastructure programmes. The role sits within a large-scale delivery environment and involves end‑to‑end ownership of project controls strategy across cost, schedule, and performance.\n\nYou will:\n\n * Work closely with Project Planners, Cost Controllers, and Project Teams to define and implement a Project Controls strategy\n\n * Supervise and review all project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and cost analysis activities\n\n * Identify impacts and support recovery plan development\n\n * Direct and manage the preparation and presentation of integrated cost and programme status reports and forecasts\n\n * Develop, execute, and manage all elements of the Project Controls plan\n\n * Oversee quantitative progress measurement and performance tracking\n\n * Prepare consolidated reports for senior leadership, highlighting risks, issues, and recommended corrective actions\n\nWhat You Bring\n\n * Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Project Management\n\n * Professional Project Management certification (desirable)\n\n * Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (desirable)\n\n * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\n\n * Advanced Primavera P6 experience (MS Project knowledge beneficial)\n\n * Sound understanding of cost control and basic financial frameworks\n\n * Contract and claims management knowledge (desirable)\n\n * Excellent English communication skills
