My client are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to manage mechanical packages on active upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate experience in the mechanical services industry and technical ability to manage various aspects and procedures through the mechanical services package delivery.
This business are an M&E contractor forming part of a larger group of companies, operating under a wider Group. Based in the West End of London, they provides end-to-end mechanical and electrical solutions, from design through to project delivery, with a strong engineering focus. Key Responsibilities:
• Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
• Produce technical submissions, construction co-ordinated drawings, and update them to reflect design or scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Raise ‘Requests for Information’ (RFIs) and liaise with consultants and clients for timely responses.
• Manage and generate project cost variations, track changes, and support commercial reporting.
• Provide day-to-day technical and project support to site managers, subcontractors, and client teams.
• Develop, issue, and maintain mechanical services work programmes, aligning with overall construction schedules.
• Produce and update Progress Reports for issue and discussion with client team and Directors.
• Manage and oversee testing and commissioning process, ensuring systems are delivered to the highest standards and meet all specifications.
• Collate and issue complete O&M manuals and as-built record drawings.
• Ensure full compliance with project specifications, relevant regulations, and internal quality standards.
Candidate Requirements:
• NVQ Level 5 minimum (or equivalent) in construction management or HNC in building services.
• CSCS card
• SMSTS
• Full UK driving licence
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services.
• Experience managing site-based installations on live construction projects.
• Good understanding and technical knowledge of mechanical commercial systems. Pipework, Plumbing, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, BMS.
Skills:
• Attention to detail and due diligence.
• Ability to manage and motivate site teams.
• Strong understanding of construction site operations and H&S standards
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to development a project from mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Microsoft literate, with experience in Microsoft Office Word/Excel and communicating via email.
