Are you an experienced construction lawyer looking to make a real impact across major infrastructure and construction projects? Tarmac, a CRH company, is seeking a LegalCounsel - Construction to provide expert legal leadership across a wide variety of high value, complex and business critical work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected inhouse legal team, partnering closely with Quantity Surveyors, Commercial and Operational leaders, senior stakeholders and the wider CRH legal network.You’llplay a key role in shaping contracting strategy, resolving disputes, supporting governance, and enabling successful project delivery across the UK.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

Advise on NEC, JCT, FIDIC and other key construction contract suites.
Lead construction disputes, including adjudications and complex payment issues.
Support project structuring, capexactivityand commercial negotiations.
Assess contractual risk and guide Quantity Surveyors, Commercial and Operations teams.
Strengthen governance,complianceand contract management processes.
Deliver training that improves capability across the business.WhatYou’llBring

Qualified Solicitor, Barrister orFCILExin England & Wales.
Strong background in construction law (contentious and noncontentious).
Experience advising on NEC, JCT and associated contract forms.
Proven involvement in construction disputes, including adjudications and claims.
Experience partnering with Commercial, QS and Operational teams.
Ability to manage and direct external counsel effectively.Desirable: FIDIC/ICE exposure, experience with JV or alliance models,previousin-houseconstructionor infrastructure experience.
