Job Title: Inventory ManagerLocation: Lynn Road, WisbechSalary: £40,000 per annumJob Type: Full-time, PermanentWorking Hours: Mon to Fri 8.00 am to 17.00 pmMain Purpose:The Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and visibility of all inventory across the site(s), while leading a small team and influencing wider operational performance. This role plays a key part in ensuring the Warehouse Management System (WMS) reflects real-time stock accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, rework activity, and delivery against contractual KPIs and SLAs.Key Accountabilities:Inventory Control & Accuracy:Own and manage stock accuracy across the site, ensuring the WMS is maintained to a high standard at all timesDevelop, implement, and manage a robust Perpetual Inventory (PI) scheduleInvestigate and resolve stock discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actionsEnsure all inventory processes are compliant with internal, customer, and audit requirementsRework & Value-Added Activity:Take full ownership of rework activities across sites, ensuring they are planned, controlled, and delivered efficientlyCoordinate rework priorities in line with operational demand and customer requirementsEnsure accurate stock movements and system updates relating to rework processesOperational InfluenceWork cross-functionally with operations to drive best practices in stock handling, storage, and movementInfluence operational teams to ensure adherence to inventory processes and standardsSupport export activity through involvement in documentation and stock preparationPerformance ManagementMonitor and analyse KPIs and SLAs, ensuring alignment with contractual obligationsReport on inventory and rework performance, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunitiesTake proactive action to address performance gapsContinuous Improvement & AnalysisContinuously review and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Conduct ABC analysis and support warehouse layout optimisation to improve stock flow and efficiencyOrganise and prepare stock for customer analysis (e.g. catch analysis / quality reviews)Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance accuracy and productivitySystems & Process OptimisationAct as the site lead for WMS inventory functionalityDrive system improvements and ensure optimal use of technologySupport system upgrades, testing, and process changesTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a small inventory teamSet clear expectations and drive accountability for inventory and rework activitiesFoster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvementManage poor behaviour and conduct when necessaryConduct investigations and disciplinaries when necessary, through the Disciplinary proceduresBe fully conversant with the People Policies and refer to when necessary to manage non-adherenceBe able to hold difficult conversations and manage conflict resolutionBe able to problem solve and look for resolutionsBe respectful and lead changeHousekeeping & Hygiene StandardsEnsure high standards of warehouse housekeeping and inventory hygiene are maintainedPromote a clean, organised, and audit-ready environment at all timesThe above list of accountabilities is not exclusive or exhaustive and is not intended as a list of individual tasks.
