Health & Safety Manager – Commercial Vehicle Sector\n \nLocation: London / South East (multi-site travel)\n Salary: Up to £60,000 + 15% Bonus\n Job Type: Full Time, Permanent\n \nA leading commercial vehicle organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee and develop group-wide safety strategy across multiple sites in the South East of England. This Health & Safety Manager position will play a key role in shaping safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the business.\n \nThe successful Health & Safety Manager will work closely with senior leadership to implement and manage a robust health and safety framework while supporting operational teams with expert guidance and best practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety Manager who enjoys influencing safety culture and working across multiple locations.\n \nBenefits\nSalary up to £60,000\n15% performance bonus\n24 days annual leave\nAbility to carry over up to 5 days annual leave\nCompany pension contribution up to 5%\nPrivate medical insurance\nLife assurance\nDuvet day\nMonthly recognition awards\nOngoing professional development\nOpportunity to shape group-wide health and safety strategy\nResponsibilities\nLead the development and implementation of the company’s Health & Safety strategy across multiple sites.\nAct as the primary expert and point of contact for environmental, health and safety matters.\nDevelop, implement and continuously improve a structured Health & Safety Management System.\nProvide coaching and guidance to site leadership teams to improve health and safety performance.\nDeliver training initiatives including the implementation of an online Health & Safety training portal.\nManage relationships with regulators and external stakeholders regarding health and safety matters.\nLead scheduled and unscheduled Health & Safety audits across sites to ensure legislative compliance.\nOversee incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.\nMonitor safety performance data, trends and risk indicators to identify improvement opportunities.\nProduce regular reports on Health & Safety performance for senior management.\nEnsure emergency management plans are in place and regularly tested across all locations.\nSupport the business in implementing occupational health guidance where required.\nRequirements\nDegree qualified or equivalent in Health and Safety or a related discipline.\nPrevious experience required in a strategic or group-level Health & Safety Manager role.\nStrong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulatory frameworks.\nExperience implementing and managing a Health & Safety Management System.\nProven ability to drive cultural change and improve health and safety performance.\nExperience managing risk, incidents and safety investigations.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data and trends.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.\nFlexible approach with willingness to travel regularly between sites (50–70% travel).\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\nThis Health & Safety Manager role offers the opportunity to influence safety culture across a major commercial vehicle operation.
