Head of History – Secondary School (Ofsted “Good”)

REED Education are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Cambridge, rated “Good” by Ofsted. The school is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of History to lead their successful department on a temporary basis from 13th April until 17th July, with the potential for the role to be extended.

The Role

As Head of History, you will:

• Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the History department
• Support and mentor teaching staff to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development
• Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress
• Work closely with SLT and contribute to the wider school community

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Proven experience teaching History at secondary level
• Previous Head of Department or leadership experience is highly desirable
• Strong organisational skills and xbpsjku the ability to inspire both staff and students
• A commitment to maintaining the school’s high academic standards
