Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are working in partnership with our client to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join their HR team. This is a newly created, high-profile role that offers the successful applicant a rare opportunity to truly make it their own.

Reporting directly to the HR Director, you’ll take ownership of the entire employee relations agenda, with the remit to shape, lead and embed best practice across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for setting the tone and strategy for the ER function, reviewing and improving processes, building capability across the business, and providing high-level reporting and insights to the senior leadership team and Board.

In addition to the strategic element, this role also involves leading a small team, so previous management or team leadership experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary processes, performance issues, and conflict resolution
  • Provide expert advice to managers on HR policies, employment law, and best practice
  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies and frameworks that support a positive and fair working environment
  • Review and enhance existing ER processes, procedures and documentation
  • Produce reports and insights for the senior management team and Board
  • Manage and coach HR team members involved in ER casework
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues, the D&I Manager, and senior leadership to ensure consistent and fair outcomes
  • Support the delivery of training to improve ER capability across the business
  • Analyse ER trends and use data to drive proactive improvements
  • Monitor employee engagement and support initiatives that enhance morale and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a senior Employee Relations role with experience of setting and leading on the ER Strategy.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience leading or managing a small team
  • Ability to shape and influence the ER strategy across a business
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in handling complex and sensitive ER cases from end to end
  • Ability to work independently and confidently with senior stakeholders
  • Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD) and a degree in HR or a related field (desirable)
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ER professional to step into a visible, career-defining role where your voice will be heard and your expertise will directly shape the culture and future of the organisation.
