Assistant General Manager

New Today

Kiez is a Berlin-inspired new opening coming to Notting Hill, built around a tight kebab-led menu, curated cocktails, standout German and Austrian natural wines, and a world-class sound system, all set within a seriously design-led space. At 35 covers with a terrace, this will be a small, high-energy restaurant with real identity, strong neighbourhood appeal, and the ambition to become one of West Londons most exciting new spots. As Assistant General Manager, youll support the General Manager in bringing the concept to life, shaping the culture and standards from day one, and delivering a brilliant all-round guest experience.
What youll be doing: Supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the restaurant and helping shape the site from day one.
Leading from the floor and being a strong presence during service.
Working closely with the kitchen to keep service smooth, sharp, and consistent.
Helping build a team culture that feels positive, capable, and enjoyable to be part of.
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and development as the team grows.
Maintaining high standards across service, presentation, cleanliness, and the overall running of the site.
Taking real ownership of compliance and day-to-day operational standards, with confidence around health and safety, food safety, and legal responsibilities.
Overseeing the day-to-day organisation of the site, from shift organisation and admin through to licensing, hygiene, and maintenance issues.
Handling guest feedback with confidence and good judgement.
Stepping up to run the restaurant in the General Managers absence.
What youll bring: Experience in a senior floor-based management role, ideally as an Assistant General Manager or Restaurant Manager within a quality London restaurant.
An interest in natural wine, particularly German and Austrian producers, would be a big plus.
A genuine love for restaurants that have identity, energy, and cultural relevance.
A strong floor presence and the ability to lead busy services with confidence, pace, and attention to detail.
High standards, good instincts, and a hands-on approach.

The appetite to be part of an opening and all that comes with it.
Flexibility to work across 5 out of 7 days, including evenings and weekends.
Full UK right to work.
Whats in it for you: The chance to be part of one of Notting Hills most exciting new openings.
