Role Overview Based in our London VAT team, the successful candidate will manage a diverse client portfolio, delivering tax advisory services and overseeing VAT compliance. This client‑facing role offers exposure to both UK and international clients. Responsibilities
Business development – Lead VAT work across the London office, focusing on business advisory and not‑for‑profit clients; work with the VAT senior team to keep the firm updated on technical VAT developments; involve in National Practice Groups. Technical – Lead complex VAT advice projects for corporate and not‑for‑profit clients; review advisory work; oversee the London VAT team’s return compliance process. People – Line manager for the London VAT Manager group; provide pastoral care; support development of VAT team members; participate in national team management and development.
Qualifications
ACA/CTA qualified with senior management or director level experience. Strong UK VAT technical skills and familiarity with international VAT issues. Ability to analyse tax technical queries and provide robust advice. Project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines. Experience managing a team and delivering high‑standard professional work to a challenging, varied portfolio of clients. Responsibility for the delivery and quality of work. Excellent communication skills and a clear client focus. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and mentor other team members. Ability to increase VAT visibility within relevant practice groups and integrate with other London service lines.
