This role is based in SP8 GILLINGHAM, but we also have multiple roles available across Dorset.
As a SEN Tutor, you will:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential. Record student progress and report on this weekly. Be understanding, empathetic and patient. Record attendance. Be organised, dependable and creative. Be calm, fair and adaptable.About you:
Experience working with young people in UK schools Background in SEN education or alternative provision- desirable but not essential Confident delivering Maths and English Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning Experience of working with young people with SEMH needsPosition - Tutor Contract or position start date - ASAP Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both Hours - 15 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needsTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
