Job Description
A forward-thinking, multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Town Planner to join their growing planning team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across the private and public sectors, shaping the places of tomorrow while building your professional career.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work on delivering a wide portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments with planning applications, policy research, site appraisals, stakeholder engagement, and local plan representations, gaining exposure to all aspects of the UK planning system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents.
- Assist with site assessments, planning strategy reports, and development feasibility.
- Monitor local and national planning policy updates.
- Conduct research, prepare planning statements, and support the appeals process.
- Attend site visits and client meetings, with guidance from senior team members.
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and clients.
About You:
- A relevant degree (RTPI-accredited Town Planning or related subject).
- A genuine interest in planning and the built environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organised with good attention to detail.
- Eligibility for or working towards RTPI licentiate membership.
