Position: Technician Salary: Competitive (negotiable depending on experience) Location: North London Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends
Job Scope Our client is seeking a Technician to support the manufacture of high-complexity electromechanical products within a marine radar navigation product range.
The role involves the assembly, rework, and testing of electromechanical radar equipment used in maritime applications, alongside contributing to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities Assemble, test, and rework electromechanical equipment to a high standard of quality Work from detailed engineering drawings, schematics, procedures, and both written and verbal instructions Carry out precision tasks including soldering and unsoldering, wiring and crimping, drilling, filing, cutting, and detailed rework of printed circuit assemblies Apply mastics and adhesives using a variety of tools and equipment Inspect and check your own work, as well as supporting quality checks across the wider team Proactively troubleshoot issues and support problem-solving activities Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Raise defect reports where required Use internal systems to view, input, and manage production data Work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high-quality standards Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S principles Ensure full compliance with health & safety, quality, and operational procedures Support additional operational tasks as required Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Good numeracy and literacy skills Proactive approach with strong attention to detail Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel Experience within a cellular manufacturing environment is advantageous Previous exposure to radar systems would be beneficial Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the working day Capable of regular manual handling and lifting Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.
