Job Title: Technical Sales Manager \nLocation: Reading (Monthly Site Visit) \nSalary: £80,000 - £85,000 + Car Allowance & Benefits\n\nNote: Only candidates with permanent, unrestricted UK working rights will be considered, as visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. \n\nOverview: \n\nWe’re seeking a proactive, customer-focused Technical Sales professional to join our client in Reading, who create and manufacturing electronic components and products.\n\n The role combines customer engagement with technical knowledge of products and solutions, supporting the sales process. It involves travel within the UK and internationally for customer visits, industry events, and training.\n\nYou will understand customer needs, provide tailored recommendations, and manage the journey from inquiry to after-sales support. Working with the sales team, you'll coordinate activities, manage relationships, and identify growth opportunities.\n\nBuilding strong client relationships, anticipating needs, and translating technical details into clear, value-driven solutions are essential.
Maintaining accurate records will ensure effective follow-up and account management.\n\nTo succeed, you should be capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating commercial awareness, and influencing purchasing decisions by clearly communicating product value.\n\nResponsibilities: \n\n- Discover and cultivate new business opportunities within targeted markets \n\n- Nurture and expand existing customer relationships \n\n- Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and product demonstrations \n\n- Generate sales leads and follow up on inquiries effectively \n\n- Understand customers’ technical requirements and business challenges \n\n- Recommend suitable products, services, or technical solutions \n\n- Support customers through solution evaluation and implementation stages \n\n- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies \n\n- Provide management with insights on market opportunities and customer needs \n\n- Strategically identify revenue growth opportunities and explore new markets to drive company expansion\n\nSkills & Experience Required: \n\n- Background in technical sales, sales engineering, or solution consulting \n\n- Able to develop strong, customer-focused relationships \n\n- Comprehend clients' technical needs and business obstacles \n\n- Excellent communication and presentation abilities \n\n- Demonstrated success in building customer rapport and closing deals \n\n- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills \n\n- Capable of recognizing opportunities to drive sales growth \n\n- Technical proficiency with the ability to grasp product specifications
