Associate Vice President @ Harrington Starr Technical Lead – C# / Java (Middle & Back Office | Private Credit / Bonds) We’re working with a global financial technology firm building core platforms that sit at the centre of the investment lifecycle. This role is for a hands-on Technical Lead who still codes, still designs systems, and wants real ownership of complex, business-critical software. You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and the business — setting technical direction while remaining deeply involved in delivery. What you’ll be doing
Acting as the technical authority across C# / Java services and platforms Designing and evolving distributed, data-heavy back-end systems Leading architecture decisions across middle/back-office workflows Remaining hands-on: code reviews, complex problem-solving, critical builds Mentoring senior engineers and setting engineering best practice Working closely with Product and domain experts on private credit / bonds
What we’re looking for
Strong commercial experience as a Technical Lead / Principal Engineer Expert in C# or Java (ideally both in enterprise environments) Solid background in middle or back-office investment systems Experience with private credit, bonds, fixed income, or similar asset classes Deep understanding of data models, workflows, and financial controls Comfortable operating in regulated, mission-critical environments
