Overview DateSafe is building a reusable, pocket-sized device that detects drink spiking. Millions of people worry about this every time they go out, and the current solutions are single-use, expensive, or impractical. We are building the product that changes that. We have early traction, a growing community, and a clear route to market. Now we need a technical co-founder to help us build it. The Role This is not a job listing in the traditional sense. We are looking for a co-founder: someone who will own the technical vision and build this product from the ground up. You will have a direct hand in shaping the product, the company, and the roadmap. This is an equity-only role at this stage, with a hybrid working arrangement. What You Will Do

Lead the hardware and electronics development of the DateSafe device, from prototype through to a manufacturable product Work closely with the founding team to define the product roadmap and technical architecture Source components, evaluate manufacturing partners, and manage the prototyping process Build or oversee development of a companion app (mobile or web) to support the device Contribute to fundraising efforts by communicating the technical vision to investors Help shape the company culture, hiring strategy, and long-term technical direction

What We Are Looking For

Strong background in hardware and electronics engineering, ideally with experience taking a product from concept to manufacture Experience with embedded systems, PCB design, sensor integration, or related disciplines Software and app development skills are a significant bonus, particularly mobile or IoT platforms A builder mentality: comfortable with ambiguity, resourceful, and driven to ship Genuine passion for the problem we are solving and the impact this product can have Based in the UK or able to meet in person regularly for a hybrid arrangement
