Job summary

There are excellent opportunities for further training in Eating Disorders and robust systems of support and supervision within the Trust. There are great opportunities for joint working and continuing professional development. NEDS is a very well-established service, which has evolved over the past 30 years and is a pioneer of community-based approaches to treatment and support. New developments include the development of intensive home support and day programme for people with severe eating disorders and early intervention approaches.

We have strong working links with CMHTs, IAPT Talking Therapies, Personality Disorder Service, Complex PTSD service and the Autistic Spectrum Disorder/ADHD service within the Trust and also with the Primary and Acute care sector. We are building stronger links with third sector and community organisations and co-production with service users and carers is highly valued and central to our delivery.

A comprehensive range of services is provided, from outpatient individual and group treatment packages for relatively mild-moderate cases through to intervention and case management of people with severe Anorexia Nervosa. Clinicians in NEDS work with individuals locally in the community and also co-ordinate referrals to Out of Area inpatient admissions to Specialist Eating Disorder Units
