Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist dietitian with experience and passion to work with eating disorders, to join the large and expanding Northants Eating Disorder Service (NEDS). NEDS is a passionate and energetic countywide psychology-led service. The team (over 26 WTE) currently comprises a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical & Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists (RMN), Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Specialist Dietitians, Occupational Therapist, Support Workers (including Peer Support Workers), Arts Therapists, and Assistant Psychologists.

NEDS is a well-established service, evolving over the past 30 years and pioneering community-based approaches to treatment and support. We offer evidence-based treatment for the full spectrum of eating disorders: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and OSFED. Our services range from outpatient individual and group treatments for mild to moderate cases of Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder to intervention and case management for severe Anorexia Nervosa. Clinicians work with individuals in the community and coordinate referrals to Out of Area inpatient admissions to Specialist Eating Disorder Units (SEDU) when needed.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications (Essential)

• BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Dietetics or PG Diploma
• Experience working with Eating Disorders
• Experience in complex multidisciplinary team work

Knowledge and Qualifications (Desirable)

• Training in therapeutic models e.g., CBT/psychoeducation
• Membership of BDW mental health or interest groups
• Knowledge of MEED guidance

Experience (Essential)

• Challenging MDT work experience
• Supervision and training experience
• Familiarity with NICE guidelines for ED treatment
• High-level communication skills
• Substantial post-qualification clinical dietetics experience (acute and/or community)

Experience (Desirable)

• Supporting undergraduate training
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Audit/research experience
• Management experience
