Meet the team behind this journey We’re seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our finance team and drive our revenue recognition strategy and systems. This role is instrumental in ensuring compliance with IFRS 15 (International Financial Reporting Standard for revenue recognition) accounting standards while optimizing our revenue processes across the organization. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you’ll work closely with Deal Desk (our sales contract structuring team), Sales Operations, Legal, Product, and the finance team to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition. You’ll be part of the revenue finance team of approximately 4 people and will handle complex contracts and large‑scale data analysis in a fast‑growing SaaS environment. Your Responsibilities Revenue Recognition
Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with IFRS 15 Review and analyze contracts and add‑ons to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment Handle complex revenue scenarios across our SaaS and high‑volume data environment
Financial Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual closing adjustments and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures related to revenue Ensure accounts are closed in a timely manner with proper documentation
Data Analytics & Automation
Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract data from various infrastructure (e.g., Salesforce, Databricks) for monthly revenue closing and reporting Use Python to automate large‑scale reconciliations between source systems and the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies in real‑time
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline efficiency and enhance revenue recognition processes within complex contracts Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy Drive automation and optimization of revenue workflows
Compliance and Audit
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews Maintain strong internal controls and documentation
Cross‑functional Collaboration
Work closely with Deal Desk, Legal, and Sales Operations, and Product to ensure alignment on revenue‑related matters Provide insights and support for business decisions Review contracts and ensure sales teams understand revenue recognition rules
System Implementation
Participate in the implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition systems and tools Ensure systems are configured to comply with IFRS 15 requirements Work with large datasets, requiring strong analytical capabilities
Policy Development
Develop and update revenue recognition policies, procedures, flowcharts, and controls documentation Ensure documentation is clear, comprehensive, and accessible internally Take ownership of the accounting processes
Qualities we look for Ideally, you’ll bring hands‑on experience in revenue accounting within complex, fast‑growing environments, including: Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in revenue management or accounting Strong experience with IFRS 15 is essential Experience at major international accounting firms (e.g., KPMG, Deloitte, EY, or PwC) is strongly preferred, particularly at assistant manager or manager level or equivalent Audit experience, particularly within SaaS environments, is highly valued Experience working in SaaS or high‑volume data environments
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Qualified accountant (CPA – Certified Public Accountant, ACCA – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, CIMA – Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, or equivalent) A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
Technical Skills
SQL Proficiency: 2+ years of experience writing complex joins and subqueries to manipulate high‑volume transaction data – required Python Skills: Ability to write scripts for data cleaning, financial modeling, and process automation – required Proficiency in Workday or Chargebee is a plus Strong analytical mindset with ability to handle large datasets Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
Communication & Collaboration
Fluency in English; other languages are a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders within and external to finance Strong stakeholder management skills
