As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key commercial lead within a multidisciplinary project team, supporting both operational delivery and senior management. This role provides a platform to develop existing commercial skills while broadening your experience across a varied portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.\n Working for a Tier 1 delivery contractor, a contractor known for delivering technically complex schemes ranging from £200k to £10m+, you will be instrumental in driving financial performance, managing risk, and ensuring robust commercial governance.\n\n Key Responsibilities Commercial Leadership\nProduce accurate and timely cost/value reconciliations, forecasts, and monthly commercial reports.\nManage the full commercial lifecycle from procurement through to final account.\nOversee subcontract procurement, negotiation, and payment schedules.\nPrepare and submit applications for payment, ensuring alignment with contractual entitlements.\nSupport internal cash flow projections and monitor actuals against forecasted spend and revenue.\nProvide clear and concise commercial advice to project teams, identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.\nProtect the business’s commercial position by ensuring robust change management and contractual compliance.Contract Administration\nAdminister main and subcontract agreements (IChemE/NEC ), ensuring all obligations are met.\nSupport contract reviews to identify and mitigate risk exposure, ensuring alignment with internal governance.\nLead commercial engagement with clients, subcontractors, and external stakeholders on all matters relating to cost and contract changes.\nPromote effective supply chain engagement through sound contractual frameworks and relationship management.Process & Governance\nEnsure internal commercial processes and deadlines are met, including monthly reporting cycles and audits.\nChampion process improvement and drive efficiencies in commercial delivery and project controls. Key Performance Indicators\nTimely and accurate forecasting of project cost and value.\nEffective cost control and margin enhancement.\nQuality and compliance of commercial documentation.\nRisk identification and mitigation strategies implemented.\nPositive stakeholder and supply chain relationships maintained.\nDelivery of profit in line with business expectations. Stakeholder Engagement\nInternal: Project Delivery Teams, Commercial Team, Senior Management\nExternal: Clients, Subcontractors, Third-Party Advisors Candidate Profile Essential\nProven experience within the construction or civil engineering sector.\nIn-depth understanding of IChemE or NEC contracts.\nStrong background in subcontract management, cost reporting, and forecasting.\nExcellent numerical and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.\nStrong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.Desirable\nDegree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.\nMembership of RICS or equivalent (or working towards).\nEstimating experience is advantageous.\nBackground with a self-delivery contractor is beneficial.\nCSCS accreditation.
