Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 per annum plus comprehensive benefits package

Due to a recent number of project wins around Devon, we are looking to expand our commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor.


The Role:

As the Senior QS you will reporting into the Commercial Director and you will be at the forefront of our commercial operations, managing all financial aspects of a major project valued between £30,000,000 and £100,000,000. Your strategic insight and commercial acumen will drive profitability and ensure the successful delivery of our projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all commercial activities related to large-scale industrial and steel frame projects.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, including subcontractor agreements and client variations.
  • Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate cost control.
  • Lead the commercial team, providing guidance and support to junior members.
  • Resolve commercial disputes and manage claims effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and senior management to align commercial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction industry, particularly with industrial and steel frame projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and cost control.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a commercial team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
  • Full understanding of industry-standard software and tools.
