Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Glasgow (Office‑based with site visits across the Scottish Highlands)

About the Role
Australian founded, International Caber Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major energy infrastructure programme in Scotland. The role sits within our global engineering consultancy environment, delivering commercial and contract management services on a large‑scale overhead transmission project spanning the Isle of Skye to mainland Scotland.
Working Arrangement
This role will involve a combination of office‑based and site‑based working, with time split between Caber Group’s Glasgow office and project sites across the Scottish Highlands. Site attendance will be required during key phases of the works, including initial activity in the Fort Augustus area, with the balance of office and site work varying depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
Depending on experience, responsibilities will include:
Providing commercial and cost management services across the project lifecycle Preparing, reviewing and managing cost plans, forecasts and budgets Contract administration under industry‑standard forms (including NEC) Assessment and agreement of interim applications, variations and final accounts Cost reporting, earned value analysis and financial risk management Supporting procurement strategies, tender reviews and contractor negotiations Managing change control and commercial correspondence Supporting dispute avoidance and commercial risk mitigation Liaising closely with engineering, planning and site teams Attending site to understand progress, risks and commercial impacts Mentoring junior team members (Senior level)
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities or major civil engineering projects Strong knowledge of NEC contracts Experience on energy, transmission, or linear infrastructure projects is highly desirable Ability to operate in a consultancy environment, providing advice to delivery teams and stakeholders Strong commercial acumen with excellent reporting and communication skills Comfortable working across both office and site environments Proficient in cost management and commercial reporting tools Full right to work in the UK
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline Professional accreditation (or working towards) with RICS or equivalent is desirable
