Job Description
ERP Requirements Project Manager (Finance Transformation)
Onsite 2-3 days a week - 3 Month Contract
£800 per day
MUST HAVE MEDIA AGENCY EXPERIENCE
The Role
The ERP Requirements Project Manager (Contract) will work within the Finance team at my client. This is a senior, fixed-term contract role responsible for leading the requirements definition phase of my clients migration from MediaOcean to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
The successful candidate will play a key part in design workshops, engage with senior stakeholders across the business, and ensure that all functional requirements are comprehensively identified, challenged, and documented before the technical build commences. This is a pivotal role that will directly shape the quality of our future finance systems and processes.
Background
My client is undergoing a significant period of Finance Transformation. This includes migrating trade to fewer legal entities, simplifying systems and making processes more standard.
A central pillar of this transformation is the migration of our core ERP platform from MediaOcean to Microsoft Dynamics 365. This move will modernise our financial infrastructure, improve data integrity, and create a scalable platform to support continued growth.
To deliver this successfully, we need a senior finance professional who can take control of the requirements phase with authority - someone who understands both the technical landscape of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the commercial/operational realities of working within a large, complex media business.
Approach
In line with our wider Finance Transformation principles, this role will adopt a people-first and continuous improvement mindset, ensuring that:
Requirements reflect the genuine needs of our finance teams and are
designed for willing adoption, not simply a like-for-like replication of existing processes
Legacy ways of working are critically challenged, with the new system seen as an opportunity to embed best practice from the ground up including leveraging automation
All key stakeholders are meaningfully engaged throughout the requirements process, with clear governance and sign-off at every stage
The solution is aligned to a single source of truth, enabling accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across the business.
What You'll Do:
Be a key contributor to the requirements workstream for the Microsoft
Dynamics 365 implementation.
Bring deep Microsoft Dynamics 365 expertise to challenge and shape
requirements, ensuring the business benefits from best-practice system design rather than replicating existing process inefficiencies
Lead current-state process reviews, working with finance teams to
understand existing MediaOcean workflows and identify improvement
opportunities as part of the transition to Dynamics 365
Drive gap analysis between current MediaOcean functionality and Microsoft Dynamics 365 capabilities, proactively surfacing risks and proposing pragmatic solutions
Produce and maintain high-quality requirements documentation,
including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process flow diagrams, and prioritised user stories, to a standard ready for handover to the technical implementation team
Act as the senior point of contact between Finance, IT, and implementation partners during the requirements phase, ensuring alignment and resolving conflicting priorities with authority
Identify, manage, and escalate risks and dependencies that could impact the integrity of the design or downstream delivery milestones
Prepare and present materials for senior stakeholder and governance
forums, providing clear and concise updates on requirements progress,
decisions needed, and outstanding risks
Contribute to data migration planning, advising on data structures,
cleansing requirements, and field-level mapping from MediaOcean to
Microsoft Dynamics 365
What You'll Bring:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)— essential
Hands-on experience of at least one full Microsoft Dynamics 365
Finance & Operations implementation at a senior level, whether as a project lead, senior functional consultant, or requirements owner — essential
Previous experience within the media industry, with a strong
understanding of media-specific financial processes including client billing, agency revenue recognition, inter-company recharges, and supplier management — essential
Demonstrable experience owning a requirements workstream end-to-end, including planning, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder sign-off
The gravitas and confidence to challenge existing ways of working and advocate for best-practice solutions, even where that requires difficult conversations
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and influencing at Finance Director level and above
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex system design concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences
A highly organised and self-directed working style, with the ability to
structure and manage a demanding workstream independently within a fixed-term engagement
Proven ability to work at pace and under pressure, delivering high-quality outputs to immovable deadlines
What We Would Love You to Have:
Direct experience of MediaOcean and a strong understanding of its data structures, chart of accounts, and financial workflows
Exposure to data migration projects, including data mapping, cleansing strategies, and validation frameworks
Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools that
integrate with Microsoft Dynamics 365
Experience working alongside business architecture or solution design teams to ensure the right solution is being built, not simply the one the business initially asks for
