Join the expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, following the success of Hinkley Point C. It has obtained planning approval and Government financing support, begun construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years and support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Role Senior Project Manager within the Nuclear Island (NI) delivery programme.
Lead a high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary team and oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of critical systems, structures and components across several buildings and contracts within NI. Facilitate the delivery phase in partnership with the Sizewell C supply‑chain team, the Responsible Designer (RD), the quality team and suppliers. Take ownership of budgets, schedules, risk management and quality assurance. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage complex interfaces smoothly. Apply technical expertise and leadership to uphold the highest standards of execution and compliance.
About You You’re an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering large‑scale, complex projects from concept to completion, within a technically complex and dynamic environment. You have a strong safety, security and environmental responsibility record, ideally in the Nuclear Energy sector or a similarly regulated environment. Qualifications & Skills
Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering within large‑scale industrial plant environments. Proven success in coordinating multi‑disciplinary design and procurement activities, driving teams to meet key deadlines. Strong grasp of the complexities involved in major projects, particularly in managing interfaces between different scope areas. Data mindset and digital competency – comfortable using data and digital tools to drive decisions and improve processes. Proficiency in collaboration platforms such as MS Teams. Experience in project management or project engineering, covering the full lifecycle from concept through to handover. Confident communicator, able to engage effectively in both client‑facing and contractor‑facing scenarios. Exceptional communication, organisational and leadership abilities. Desirable: Existing relationship with RD or EDF supply chain.
