About the Role

Our client, a leading national procurement organisation, is seeking an experienced National Account Manager to manage and grow a strategic alliance with a large national sports group. This is a senior, high-profile role combining strategic account leadership, commercial growth, and people management.

Operating in a hybrid, field-based capacity, the successful candidate will take ownership of the alliance, working closely with senior stakeholders to align sales strategies, deliver commercial outcomes, and drive long-term alliance value.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end relationship with a major national sports group, acting as the primary commercial and strategic contact
  • Develop and deliver strategic account and sales plans aligned with wider business objectives
  • Work closely with senior management to align sales strategies, solutions, and commercial priorities
  • Will have an influence across multiple business departments & teams.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective negotiation, contract management, and new business development
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring delivery against agreed business plans
  • Oversee sales activity across the account, including pipeline management, opportunity conversion, and performance tracking
  • Identify and pitch for new business opportunities within the alliance to expand scope and value
  • Provide leadership to internal sales and account teams, inspiring high performance and accountability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, finance, and leadership teams
  • Represent the organisation at national partner meetings, events, and key stakeholder forums


About You

  • Proven experience in a National Account Manager, Strategic Account Manager, or senior commercial role within a corporate or business-focused environment
  • Strong track record of working with senior management to align sales strategies and deliver tailored solutions
  • Experienced leader with the ability to support, motivate, and inspire sales teams to achieve results
  • Highly commercial with an entrepreneurial approach to business development and growth
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of successfully pitching and winning new business
  • Demonstrated history of achieving sustained sales growth and delivering against business plans and targets
  • People management experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and drive team performance
  • Confident operating in complex, multi-site or national account environments
  • Comfortable in a hybrid, field-based role with regular national travel
