Our client, based in Newark, is one of the world’s top manufacturers in their field.
Due to their sustained growth, our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their market-leading team.

THE ROLE:

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer your role will involve -

* Design, develop, and test electro-mechanical products.

* Prepare professional product specifications, technical, and test reports.

* Conduct fault analysis and technical investigations.

* Supervise and support junior Engineers.

* Implement changes to hardware designs to address cost, obsolescence, etc.

* Assist production teams with improvements and issues.

* Conduct verification activities, including environmental testing.

* Maintain professionalism and develop continuously.

* Produce detailed drawings to BS 8888 and manage drawing alterations.

* Design 3D models using SolidWorks.

* Ensure quality standards through design reviews/checking.

THE CANDIDATE:

* Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or similar.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.

* Task and issue management expertise.

* Proficient with SolidWorks.

* Excellent time-management and multi-project leadership.

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection-moulding and CNC milling.

* Customer and supplier interfacing experience.

* Skills in program management, analysis, and documentation organisation.

* Independent project completion with minimal supervision.

* SolidWorks PDM and MRP experience.

* Familiarity with IEC/MIL/DO-160 standards.
