Job Description

Working in the head office of a Central London Shipping / Commodity Trading company the role gives the successful candidate a direct exposure with senior management. He / she will be responsible for the production of timely delivery of monthly and yearly financial statement and support the CFO with the management report analysis and annual audit of the various shipping companies and trading activities within the Group.

He/she will also liaise with stakeholders (external and internal) to ensure the accurate and consistent reporting of investment projects covering vessel investment, mining investments and infrastructure projects.


Duty includes:


Offshore shipping accounting:

  • Responsible to daily bookkeeping and produce the monthly account of on/off-shore shipping companies
  • Assisting with off-shore account consolidation
  • Analysis of shipping PNL, performance and KPIs
  • Managing OPEX reporting and commentary on variation (close interaction with assets management)


Commodity trading and offshore holding company accounting:

  • Responsible to daily bookkeeping and produce the monthly account
  • Assisting with settlement of the AP and AR of cargo/freight/ancillary costs
  • Analysis of trading PNL
  • Shareholding companies investment and dividends reporting


Investment reporting:

  • Responsible to produce the monthly investment accounts and statements on the projects to internal and external investors
  • Liaising with all elements of the group including commercial, asset management, operations, legal and finance team to understand the groups investments in varying sectors.
  • Communicate company strategy, operational performance, and financial results.
  • Manage regular investor updates including quarterly reports, presentations, and briefings.
  • Work closely with finance to translate financial results into clear investment narratives.


Overall

  • Cashflow forecast and budget
  • Support CFO with financial management
  • Supervise the junior member of staffs, assisting CFO to coordinate the departmental financial operations
  • Under ISO certification, the Company expect all its employees to adhere to the company Information Management System


To success in the role

  • Fully qualified CIMA / ACCA
  • Interesting in shipping and logistics, commodity trading, investment reporting
  • Looking to grow your career in an expanding business
  • Have minimum 5 years of experience in bulk shipping
  • Good working knowledge of IMOS / Xero / Fathom / MS Application / Banking platforms
