Senior Financial Accountant (Public Sector/Belfast) VANRATH is delighted to be working in partnership with a well known business to recruit a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join the growing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Manager. What's in it for you?

What you'll do
Lead and manage month-end close processes, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and delivery of accurate monthly reporting packs Produce financial reports and support senior leadership reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant accounting standards Prepare technical calculations (e.g. impairment/bad debt provisions) and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data Support the preparation of annual financial statements, including audit schedules and liaison with external auditors Maintain strong financial controls while supporting cash forecasting, consolidated reporting, and continuous process improvement
About you
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with strong financial accounting and reporting experience Confident making and explaining technical accounting judgements within complex environments Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly Proven experience within a finance function (industry, practice, or public sector) with relevant post-qualified experience Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
