Senior Employment Solicitor – Legal 500 City Firm

Salary: £75,000 - £105,000

The Opportunity

A Legal 500 City firm is looking to appoint a Senior Employment Solicitor to join its highly respected Employment team. This is a strategic hire within a growing practice known for partner accessibility, high-value advisory work, and acting for a roster of major corporates across financial services, tech, professional services and high-growth scale-ups. The role has become available due to a sustained increase in corporate instructions and cross-departmental demand.

The Role

You will work closely with Employment Partners and Corporate, Commercial and Regulatory teams to deliver high-level advice to employer clients. The workload is predominantly non-contentious, but with the scope to maintain a small contentious caseload. Typical responsibilities include:

• Supporting corporate transactions, including advising on TUPE, redundancy programmes, senior exits and employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
• Managing a range of advisory matters including contracts, policies, equality issues, restructures and investigations.
• Handling complex Tribunal matters when required, often involving discrimination, whistleblowing and high-value unfair dismissal claims.
• Leading key client relationships and contributing to business development across the wider firm.
• Supporting and supervising junior lawyers, helping shape the future direction of the practice.

About You

You will be an experienced Employment Solicitor (6–10 PQE) with strong exposure to both advisory and contentious matters. Experience of working within a recognised City, West End, or reputable regional firm will be advantageous. You should feel confident running your own files, advising senior stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice. A strong commercial approach and the ability to build long-term client relationships is essential.
