Senior Bid Writer Major Infrastructure & Construction Projects
Red Sky Personnel is working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 infrastructure and construction contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Bid Writer to support the delivery of high-profile, complex tenders across the UK.
This is a key role within the bid team, responsible for leading the development of high-quality, compelling, and fully compliant written submissions for major construction and infrastructure projects.
The Role
As Senior Bid Writer, you will take ownership of written responses from initial strategy through to final submission. Working closely with Bid Managers, subject matter experts, and wider tender teams, youll help shape win themes, value propositions, and solution narratives that clearly articulate how projects will be successfully delivered.
Youll be comfortable operating in a technical environment, leading workshops, challenging contributors where needed, and ensuring responses are clear, concise, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the writing, editing, and proofing of tender responses and bid submissions
Analyse client requirements, compliance criteria, and evaluation methodology
Develop clear answer plans to maximise bid scores
Work with cross-functional teams to define win strategies and value propositions
Produce high-quality written content, refining technical input into clear, compelling responses
Identify and articulate value-added and innovative solutions
Coordinate reviews, manage feedback, and ensure quality assurance standards are met
Work with design and graphics teams to develop supporting visuals
Manage bid programmes, deadlines, and progress reporting
Maintain and develop project case studies and bid content libraries
About You
Proven experience as a Senior Bid Writer within the construction or infrastructure sector
Strong understanding of bid and tender processes across a range of project values
Excellent written English and editing skills with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working with technical and engineering information
Strong organisational and project management skills
Proactive, confident, and able to challenge stakeholders constructively
Proficient with MS Word and collaborative platforms (Teams, SharePoint)
Desirable:
Technical or engineering academic background
APMP Foundation or Practitioner qualification
