NOW Education is currently recruiting for a qualified Teaching Assistant to work full-time within a specialist primary school setting in Sheldon, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity within a well-established specialist provision that caters for pupils with EHCPs. The school provides a structured, supportive and engaging environment, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all pupils are able to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the school day, working both 1:1 and in small groups. You will help deliver tailored learning activities and support pupils’ communication, engagement and behaviour. You will support children with a strong focus on progression, communication, and social development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Support communication, interaction and social development
• Implement behaviour support strategies where required
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals
• Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
• Experience working within SEN settings, particularly with ASD (essential)
• A patient, calm and consistent approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
