Teach Now is working with a high-performing, over-subscribed secondary academy in Watford to recruit a compassionate and thoughtful SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, term-time-only position supporting students in a class-based role, focused on SEMH needs, without working across multiple year groups.

The school, consistently rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED since 2012, is housed in a modern building with state-of-the-art facilities, designed to support student success and staff collaboration. The team is inclusive, nurturing, and forward-thinking—ideal for a candidate looking to grow in a supportive educational setting.

Your Role Will Involve:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and group support for students with SEMH needs

• Building trust-based, supportive relationships with students

• Assisting the teacher in creating a calm, inclusive classroom environment

• Encouraging emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and engagement

• Working closely with SENCOs and external agencies as needed

Requirements
• Be knowledgeable about SEMH and the challenges students may face

• Bring a calm, considerate, and emotionally intelligent approach

• Be resilient, positive, and naturally supportive

• Have strong communication skills and a commitment to student wellbeing

• Be a recent graduate or early-career candidate with intellectual curiosity and drive
