SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, primarily within English.
Assist learners in developing reading, writing and comprehension skills.
Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver personalised learning approaches.
Encourage independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours.
Adapt tasks and resources to suit individual learning needs.
Support classroom management and contribute to a calm, supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with students with SEND (ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, communication needs, SEMH).
Be patient, consistent and committed to student progress.
Work effectively as part of a team and follow teacher guidance.
Be proactive, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with learners.
Beneficial Backgrounds Include:
Previous Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant roles
English tutoring or literacy support experience
Youth work or mentoring
Health and Social Care
Behaviour support roles
Graduates with strong English skills
Classroom experience within secondary or SEND environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
