Science Technician - Secondary School - Brent - ASAP Start - Full-Time

Tradewind Recruitment is working with welcoming and well-regarded secondary schools in Brent that is seeking a Science Technician to join their Science departments on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity to support practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in a busy and well-resourced department.

Science Technician - Role Overview

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Science across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing, setting up, and clearing away equipment for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practical lessons

Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean, and well-organised at all times

Supporting teachers during practical lessons and supervising experiments when required

Managing, storing, and maintaining science equipment and resources

Preparing materials, solutions, and apparatus in line with health and safety guidelines

Supporting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Assisting with stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory

Supporting students during practical work where appropriate

Requirements

A degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject) or previous experience as a Science Technician

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

A good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures

Confidence supporting KS3 and KS4 Science practical work

A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach

Previous school-based or laboratory experience is desirable but not essential

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
