Job Title: Science Teacher (Full-Time, Long-Term) \nLocation: Croydon, London \nSchool Type: Special Educational Needs (SEN) School \nStart Date: January 2026 \n \nJob Description: \n \nWe are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team at a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Croydon. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in January 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible science lessons to students with a wide range of learning needs, including moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum conditions.

\n \nKey Responsibilities: \nPlan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons to small classes, adapting content to meet the individual needs of students. \nAssess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support their development and learning. \nCollaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to create tailored learning strategies and individualised education plans (IEPs).

\nMaintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being. \nSupport students in developing key skills in science, encouraging independent thinking and problem-solving. \nFoster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere, promoting respect, patience, and empathy.

\nParticipate in professional development and training opportunities to further enhance teaching skills and knowledge. \nEngage with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress and learning goals. \nRequirements: \nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

\nA strong background in science (preferably a degree in a relevant scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics). \nExperience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in an SEN school setting, is highly desirable. \nA patient, compassionate, and creative approach to teaching, with a strong commitment to student-centered learning.

\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents. \nA willingness to adapt and employ flexible teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. \n \nExperience with Differentiated Instruction techniques.

\nKnowledge of autism spectrum conditions (ASC), learning disabilities, and strategies for supporting students with complex needs. \nFamiliarity with specialist SEN resources and technologies to support learning. \nJoin Us?
