As the Statutory 8.1(c) appointment, youll have full accountability for quarry operations, including production, extraction, restoration, health & safety, environmental compliance, and financial performance. Youll lead a team of around 30 colleagues, working across quarry operations, maintenance, and weighbridge activities, and play a pivotal role in supplying a strong local market, including close collaboration with the onsite asphalt plant and collect customers.
This role would suit an experienced Quarry Manager or an established 8.1(d) ready to step up, offering the opportunity to take full site responsibility within a well-established operation.

Acting as the Statutory 8.1(c), ensuring full compliance with Quarry Regulations, planning permissions, and environmental permits.
Leading all quarry activities in line with the quarry design plan, geotechnical assessments, and safe systems of work.
Managing site budgets and financial performance, ensuring effective cost control, reporting, and alignment with business targets.
Leading production delivery to meet customer demand, working closely with commercial, distribution, and asphalt teams.
Overseeing drilling and blasting activities (conducted in-house), ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
Managing, developing, and engaging the site team through effective leadership, training, performance management, and succession planning.
Who you are
You'll have experience within the quarry industry, holding a strong understanding of Quarry Regulations.
You'll hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with sound geotechnical awareness.
You'll be commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, costs, and site financial performance.
You're a confident leader with the ability to engage, develop, and motivate teams.
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
