Job Role: Quantity Surveyor \nJob Type: Main Contracting \nStart date: January 2026 \nIndustry: Construction Professionals South \nLocation: South Coast \nSalary & package dependent on experience: £50-60,000 + car allowance The role & about the client:\n \nOn behalf of our client, ITS Building People are searching for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well respected, dynamic and forward-thinking Main Contractor based in the South Coast. Due to sustained and continuous growth as well as an order book stretching well past 2026 they are looking to add to their commercial team. \n \nKey responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n \nFull commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account \nProcurement of subcontract packages and management of supply chain performance \nManaging valuations, variations, forecasting and cost reporting \nEnsuring financial compliance in line with company processes and contract terms \nWorking with operational teams to drive commercial performance and protect project margins \nBuilding strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors The ideal candidate:\n \nExperience as a QS for a main contractor \nStrong knowledge of JCT contracts \nConfident managing your own projects and workload \nStrong negotiation, analytical and communication skills \nAble to produce accurate reports, forecasts and financial documentation \nEssential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:\n \nMinimum 4–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a UK main contractor \nProven commercial management of projects valued £2m–£10m \nExperience managing procurement, subcontractor packages and cost reporting \nCapable of independently running your own schemes with minimal supervision \nStrong financial acumen and attention to detail \nDegree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar construction-related discipline (HNC/HND considered with strong experience) \nProficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems \nExcellent negotiation, communication and client-facing skills \nFull UK driving licence \nHow to apply: Please send an up-to-date CV in strict confidence or contact the office on (phone number removed) The ITS Group is committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment.
