Job Description
Project Manager - HV & EHV Electrical Projects (Contract)\n Location: Manchester / Liverpool / Leeds / Hull / Newcastle\n Contract Duration: 12 months\n IR35: Inside\n\nWe are currently supporting a leading engineering consultancy on a 12-month contract for a Project Manager specialising in High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience managing complex substation projects and a strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution systems.\n\nRole Overview:\n As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering HV and EHV projects across cable, overhead, plant, and civil scopes. You will take the initial functional requirements and translate them into compliant, cost-effective engineering solutions while managing projects to time, cost, safety, and quality targets.
Key responsibilities include:\n\nDeveloping and delivering HV & EHV projects from feasibility through energisation.\nActing as CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer on projects.\nCoordinating internal engineering teams, external service providers, and customer interfaces.\nAdministering commercial elements of the projects.Requirements:\n\nMinimum HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.\nAt least five years? experience managing large and complex HV/EHV substation projects.\nStrong knowledge of electrical transmission/distribution plant, including AIS/GIS switchgear, Protection & Control, Power Transformers, underground cables, and overhead lines.\nExperience in optioneering and selecting substation configurations based on functional requirements.\nFull project lifecycle experience delivering CAPEX and customer connection projects from 33kV to 400kV.\nDesign knowledge of AIS & GIS substations up to 400kV and familiarity with relevant engineering standards.\nExcellent understanding of H&S and CDM regulations, including the ability to act as Designer and Principal Designer.\nAbility to interpret technical documentation for substation design. \n\nWe can only consider applications from those eligible to work in the UK for this position.
