Assistant Project Manager - Water\nLocation: Manchester area \nEmployment Type: Permanent \nHybrid Working: Office, site and flexible working as required\n\nAre you an Assistant Project Manager looking for a long-term opportunity within major water and utilities projects or looking for your first role in project delivery? We are supporting a growing engineering company as they continue to strengthen their delivery capability across the region.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work multidisciplinary schemes, ensuring safe, efficient, and integrated project delivery while contributing to essential water-sector infrastructure.\n\nRole Overview:\n\nAssist project delivery from detailed design through to installation, commissioning, and final handover.\n\nManage engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation disciplines.\n\nAssist with programme, budget, resource planning and risk management to ensure projects are delivered to scope and performance targets.\n\nWork closely with civil, commercial and operational teams to ensure fully coordinated delivery across all project stages.\n\nMaintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across sites and subcontract activities.\n\nBuild strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners to drive collaborative and efficient project outcomes.\n\nSupport continuous improvement by promoting best practice in engineering and project controls.\n\nAbout You:\n\nIdeally expereince working on projects within the water, wastewater or utilities sectors.\n\nBasic understanding of MEICA systems, installation methodologies, commissioning processes and operational interfaces.\n\nPromising leadership, communication and coordination skills, with a proactive and delivery-driven approach.\n\nExperience working with multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors within a live construction or process-environment setting.\n\nRelevant engineering or project management qualifications (Degree, HNC/HND, APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).\n\nSMSTS, CSCS and/or EUSR Water Hygiene desirable.\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\nOpportunity to lead high-profile and technically complex water infrastructure schemes.\n\nA stable pipeline of future framework and project work
