This role sits within the Corporate Services team and will report directly to the Procurement Category lead. With a strategic emphasis on commercial value, this role will oversee a diverse and critical procurement portfolio across these and other areas:

Financial services: pensions, debt management, treasury operations, insurance, and actuarial services. Facilities management: including security, cleaning, catering, and office relocation. Vehicle fleet supplies and associated support services. Temporary accommodation supplies to fulfill statutory obligations related to homelessness. Human resources, consultancy services and transformation. Communication, transformation, media and events. Parking and streetscene.

This is an existing role within the organisation and the post holder is expected to work on procurement work streams for a range of major and strategically significant contracts within a designated Category area of expenditure. We are a small and close team who share ideas and learn from each other, we are proactive and uphold with pride the principles of Public Procurement.

Must understand about the Procurement New Act Regulations and have had experience in complex procurement projects. Must be able to run a tender from start to finish and have used different framework agreements. Communicate in a clear, confident and authoritative manner that is in line with established policies and practices of the Council, having a good relationship with stakeholders and peers. To organise and deliver all work on time and to agree quality standards.
